The Seventh Annual Conference on Advances in Cognitive Systems will run from Friday, August 2, to Monday, August 5, 2019, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The meeting will start at 9:00 AM on the first day and end by 5:00 PM on the fourth day.
The event will take place at the Ray and Maria Stata Center (MIT Building 32). It is located at 32 Vassar Street near the corner with Main Street at the northeastern edge of the MIT campus.
The registration fee for the conference is $300 before midnight Pacific time on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, and $350 on Thursday, August 1, and later. The same fee applies to students and nonstudents. To register, please complete the online registration form and pay with a credit card, debit card, or a PayPal account.
If you are a non-local participant, you will probably fly into Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). You may also get to Boston via Amtrak trains stopping at Boston South Station (from points south and west) or Boston North Station (from points north).
Information about getting to the MIT campus via public transportation (the MBTA, also known as the "T"), from Logan International Airport, and by car from north, south, and west (including parking suggestions for cars and bicycles) can be found at http://whereis.mit.edu/directions.html. The Stata Center is two blocks from the Kendall/MIT Station on the MBTA Red Line. Lyft and Uber rides from Boston Logan are approximately $20-25.
Shuttles are available at Boston Logan Airport:
Courtesy room blocks have been arranged for attendees at the following hotels. Click on the links below to connect to the hotel websites for booking.
There are a number of other hotels and motels within walking distance or a brief ride on the "T" from MIT. Lodging in the area is generally expensive, so you may want to shop around or consider booking a room through Airbnb. You may also choose to stay further away and take public transit or a ride-sharing service to the conference site.
Parking in Cambridge and Boston is generally not an enjoyable experience. We recommend that, if possible, you walk or use public transportation to get to the MIT campus. If you must drive to the campus, there is both on- and off-street parking available, but most public parking is not very close to the center of the MIT campus (unless you arrive early in the morning or late in the evening).
There is metered parking on Massachusetts Avenue for short stays and evenings/weekends, as well as a number of lots at which you may park for a fee. These include Vassar St. Public Parking at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Vassar Street, University Park / Star Market Public Parking, and the Marriott Parking Garage on Ames St. and Broadway.
Car rental services are available at Boston Logan International Airport and at several locations in Cambridge, including:
